Assessment Timeline

Our detailed psychoeducational assessments follow the sequence outlined below.

  • Initial parent meeting

During the initial meeting we will discuss your concerns and what questions you would like to have answered through the assessment. We will learn more about your child, starting from as early as pregnancy, their developmental history, and previous and current experiences in school/work settings.

  • Testing and clinical interview

Testing sessions occur over the span of approximately 3 sessions, and span between 2-3 hours per session (for a total of 6-9 testing hours), depending on the referral questions, and your child’s age and testing stamina. During the clinical interview, we will discuss the examinee’s interests, strengths, and challenges.

  • Feedback session with parents

At the culmination of the assessment process, we will meet, review the psychoeducational assessment, and develop a future plan with actionable and practical next steps. Parents are encouraged to provide their child’s school the assessment report or summary.

  • Feedback session with child/adolescent (optional)

As part of the assessment package, for older children and adolescents, we will discuss the assessment results in a developmentally appropriate manner. For children who have struggled for a long time, learning about their learning and neurological differences can be extremely validating and therapeutic.

  • School meeting and additional services (optional)

I am available to meet with your school’s team to discuss the results of the assessment and provide recommendations. An hourly rate will be charged.
